Our Day at Demarest Farms: Farm Stand and More for Families in North Jersey!

Springtime in New Jersey is magical, especially when spent on my favorite activity for the kids, exploring farms like Demarest Farms. As we embarked on our family outing this past May, we discovered that this charming farm, with its free play areas and tasty buffet, had a lot to offer families like ours. Here's a sneak peek into our day.

The Farm Stand: More Than Just Produce!

Upon arrival, we headed into the farm stand to check our options. Not only did it boast fresh produce, but it also treated us to a hot & cold food buffet. The roast chicken was a hit with our family, and I highly recommend it! Plus, there's the convenience of outdoor picnic tables, making our lunch experience pleasant and easy with the kids running around and using the play area.

Kid's Paradise: The Play Area

A wood John Deere!

With our young kids, Demarest Farms has one of our favorite things, a large and free play area! Our daughter was so enamored with the wooden train that it became a playful challenge to coax her over to lunch. She’s usually a big eater! The area is large and safe, set well back from the road & parking lot. Filled with a wooden tractor, a slides, elevated bridges and a train, it's no wonder she was so engrossed. We were also pleasantly surprised to encounter some furry and feathery friends. The children had a blast observing goats, chickens, rabbits, and even an alpaca!

Value for Money

One of the things we genuinely appreciated about Demarest Farms was the value. The play area was entirely free, and the produce, while limited given the early season, was reasonably priced. The buffet lunch, priced by the pound, also offered good value for money, ensuring families can have a fun and filling day out without burning a hole in their pockets.

In Conclusion

Demarest Farms offered a delightful escape for our family, blending relaxation, fun, and a touch of nature. Whether it's the allure of fresh farm produce, the joy of watching your kids play, or the unexpected pleasure of a roast chicken lunch, this farm delivered. We plan to go back during pumpkin picking season and I encourage all my fellow New Jersey moms to give it a try!
